About
History
This is the East Asian node of the Regional Office of Astronomy for Development. We are an organization that promotes astronomy education and outreach. Our organization was founded at the 2012 International Astronomical Union General Assembly in Beijing, China. The steering committee members are affiliated with Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Beijing Planetarium, Yunnan Observatory, the National University of Mongolia, Shanghai Astronomical Observatories, and the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Pyongyang Observatory. This node currently represents China, Mongolia and the DPRK, as well as other areas as the need arises.
